How We Pick

We start with a use case, not a commission rate. What does the reader need to do? Which features matter? What might cost more later?

The evidence behind an article

Research-based coverage draws on sources such as official specifications, documentation and clearly attributed independent evidence. Hands-on reviews are labeled and describe what was tested. A product announcement is news, not proof that the product performs as promised.

  • Hands-on review: we used the product, and the article describes what was tested.
  • Research-based pick: based on specifications, documentation and attributed independent sources.
  • News: what happened and why it may matter, not a verdict on performance.

What we weigh

We consider suitability, usability, compatibility, support, limitations and total cost where those details can be verified. We do not assign a score without explaining the method. Recommendations can change when products, prices or terms change.

Money and relationships

Affiliate relationships help fund the site. They do not mean every product is right for every reader. If we cover a service owned by CSP Geeks LLC or receive a review sample or other compensation, we disclose that relationship in the article. Read our affiliate disclosure for details.
